UW Wrestling Closes Out Regular Season Hosting Cowboy Shootout
LARAMIE -- The University of Wyoming wrestling team closes the book on the 2024-25 regular season on Sunday.
The Pokes host the Cowboy Shootout inside the Arena-Auditorium at 10 a.m.

The tournament is an opportunity for wrestlers who need matches for ranking implications while it also serves as a chance for backup grapplers to compete one last time before the season concludes. No Wyoming starters will participate, however, a whole heap of reserves will.
“This tournament will be great for a lot of the guys who haven’t had the opportunity to compete much this season,” head coach Mark Branch said. “Practicing every day since August is a tall task, and you want to be able to step out on the mat against an opponent when it counts and show what you’ve got. So, I’m excited for these guys to be able to do that.”
A total of 17 Cowboys are scheduled to suit up and go Sunday. That list includes John Alden (141), Antonio Avila (149), Cooper Birdwell (141), Tucker Bowen (133), Jack Braman (125), Warren Carr (157), Dylan Catlin (125), Lane Catlin (HWT), Tyson Charmoli (133), Christian Herrera (141), Westen Hoffschneider (174), Josh Kyle (133), Brett McIntosh (165), David Saenz (133), Quayin Short (174), Sloan Swan (157) and Brant Whitaker (174).
The Wyoming starters are back in action at the Big 12 Tournament. That runs from March 8-9 inside the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
