The announcement marks White’s third MW weekly award and first in track and field. He previously won the cross country Men’s Athlete of the Week award on Sept. 3 and Oct. 8 of the 2024 season. White is the first Wyoming student-athlete to win a MW weekly award in both cross country and track and field.

White won the award after a school record-breaking performance in the 1,500 meters at the Doug Max Invitational last Saturday. He ran a time of 3:40.52, after altitude conversions, to break the meet record and the 1969 school record, the oldest in the record book.

The Littleton, Colo., native now holds six school records across track and field and cross country (Mile, 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, 8k and 10k). Currently, he sits at No. 4 in the conference in the 1,500 meters, No. 9 in the 5,000 meters and No. 11 in the 10,000 meters.

Track and field will have the week off before heading to Clovis, Calif., for the Mountain West Outdoor Championships, May 15-17.
