Jacob White Breaks Own 8K School Record in South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind., – Seven Pokes ran Top 15 program times, 17 personal bests, while senior Jacob White broke his 8k school record Friday morning at the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind.

COWGIRLS
Wyoming’s early start began with the women’s 5k. The Cowgirls finished in 16th with 405 points in the 20-team field, with all nine runners posting personal bests. The team was led by graduate Marina Trave in 80th with a time of 17:23.2. She now holds the No. 9 5k program time, the first of three runners to enter the record book for the Cowgirls.
Right behind Trave was sophomore Muriel Jones crossing the line 81st with a time of 17:25.8. Her personal best finish was good for No. 13 in school history. The last of the school times for the Cowgirls was redshirt-freshman Claire Engelhardt. After a disappointing finish at the Roy Griak, she finished 87th with program No. 14 time of 17:27.4.
Rounding out the scoring five was senior Rozlyn Slichko finishing 95th at 17:33.2 and sophomore Hanan Aldelemy crossing the finish 108th with a time of 17:38.5, both personal bests.
The Cowgirls' four other finishers were junior Brionna Holso in 112th with a time of 17:42.3, senior Libby Berryhill finishing 147th at 18:18.5, redshirt-freshman Elliana Zock crossing the line 156th in 18:24.8 and sophomore Gracie Uhre taking 172nd in the 180-woman field at 18:59.7.
COWBOYS
Led once again by White, the Cowboys took third with 125 points in the 18-team field. With an 8k program record time of 22:45.1, he finished third overall after rising at every split since the 3k mark. White has now finished in the Top 3 in every meet this season.
Senior Ryker Holtzen followed White with a ninth-place finish and program No. 3 time of 23:00.5, a personal best. Holtzen was up in the lead pack, peaking at seventh at the 6k split before finishing out in ninth. Senior Mathis Chavand was the third Cowboy to finish in the Top 10 when he crossed the line 10th with a time of 23:05.6, the fourth-best 8k time in school history and personal best.
Senior Mac Zastrow finished with a great kick and moved up seven spots in the last two kilometers for 26th overall. His time of 23:35.3, a personal best, was good for No. 14 in school history.
Rounding out the scoring five was graduate Aidan Ramsey with his 81st-place finish of 24:22.9. He was the lone Cowboy not to post a personal best. However, he has run his career at or near sea level, something most Pokes take advantage of at the Notre Dame meet.
Four other Cowboy finishers ran personal best times, with some even improving their times by two minutes. Redshirt-freshman Tanner Brown took 84th with a time of 24:23.3, freshman Colin Olson ran a time of 24:49.0 for 113th, junior Austin Akers crossed the line 127th with a time of 25:09.7 and junior Meyer Smith finished 132nd in the 150-man field at 25:22.4.
