
Cowboy Golf Ties for Seventh at Oregon State Invite
SALEM, Oregon – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team put together its second consecutive solid tournament. The Pokes finished tied for seventh with a team score of 887 (+23) at the Oregon State Invite on Wednesday at Illahe Hills Country Club.

“All in all, a solid fourth tournament for our guys,” head coach Joe Jensen said. “I’m feeling good with our young group going into our last tournament of the fall at Hawaii. I’m really proud of Brody Leid. He’s getting closer, closer and closer. Today, he was right there and almost in the top five.”
Leid ended up tying for eighth at 216 (E). He concluded with a 74 (+2) and was as close as one shot off the leader during the back nine of the final round.
Conner Scheich is beginning to settle into his starter role. He shared 35th place at 223 (+7) after firing a final round 75 (+3).
Ryker Lind was also making his third consecutive start and carded a 226 (+10). He tied for 48th following a recorded third round score of 76 (+4).
Kristof Panke rounded out Wyoming’s countable scores. He tied for 62nd after logging a final round 76 (+4) and a three-round score of 229 (+13).
Kellen Ball’s score if dropped. He registered a Wednesday score of 74 (+2) and shared 65th place at 231 (+15).
Brody Knowlton and Austin Barry competed as individuals. Knowlton tied for 44th at 225 (+9), while Barry shared 75th place at 237 (+21).
Boise State took home the team title at 865 (+1). Oregon State and Cal Baptist rounded out the top three at 872 (+8) and 874 (+10), respectively. The Broncos’ Cole Rueck stood atop the individual leaderboard at 212 (-4).
Wyoming is off for a couple weeks before closing out its fall schedule in Hawaii. The Pokes are slated to participate in the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational from Oct. 27-29.
