
Bijlsma Named Mountain West Freshman of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., – Wyoming Cowgirl Silver Bijlsma was named the Mountain West Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week, announced Wednesday by the league office. It is the second honor this season for Bijlsma.

This past week, in 4-0 wins over Fresno State and San Jose State, Bijlsma went 4-0 on the weekend combined in both doubles and singles. Playing at No. 1 doubles, Bijlsma and her partner, Violetta Borodina, picked up 6-1 and 6-2 wins. In singles, Bijlsma earned a couple of straight-set wins at the No. 2 spot. Against Fresno State, she won 6-4 and 6-2 while against SJSU, Bijlsma tallied a quick 6-1 and 6-1 victory.
Bijlsma and the rest of the Cowgirls are on the road this week at Air Force, Thursday and New Mexico Saturday.
