
Cowgirls Travel for Final Time During Regular Season
LARAMIE – The Wyoming Cowgirls finish up their stretch of four consecutive matches on the road this week with a trip out West. Wyoming faces UNLV Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Mountain Time before closing the week at 1 p.m., Saturday at San Diego State.

The Cowgirls (13-12, 9-5 MW) are coming off a split last week in their first two matches on the road. Wyoming looked impressive in its four-set victory at Boise State to open the week and then closed with a loss at regular season champion Utah State. With a win a win over UNLV, UW would secure a spot in the Mountain West Championship Tournament later this month in Las Vegas.
Last week, Sarah Holcomb led the Cowgirls with 23 kills while hitting .417 for the week. Holcomb also tallied 10 blocks in the two matches to lead the Wyoming defense. Holcomb is second in the Mountain West hitting .383 this season during conference play and hitting .344 in all matches in 2025.
Holcomb leads the league and is 14th in the country averaging 1.46 blocks per set. Her 142 total blocks this season are the fourth-most in the nation. In Mountain West play, Holcomb is eighth in the league averaging 3.79 points per set.
As a team, UW is second in the league in team digs per set, averaging 15.01. At the net, the Cowgirls’ 2.67 blocks per set ranks fourth-most in the conference. Offensively, Wyoming is hitting .216 as a team, a mark that is fourth in the league. The Cowgirls are averaging 11.87 assists and 12.81 kills per set this season, which both rank sixth in the MW.
Skylar Erickson is fifth in the Mountain West averaging 3.61 digs per set. Erickson is 28 digs shy of becoming just the 10th student-athlete in program history to reach 1,000 career digs. Paige Lauterwasser continues to lead the Wyoming offense with 254 kills on the season.
UNLV has a potent offense in 2025, ranking third in the Mountain West in team hitting percentage, as it hits .229 as a team. The Lady Rebels are third in the league in kills per set with 13.34 and are fourth averaging 12.31 assists per set. UNLV also ranks third in the conference with 1.60 service aces per set and are fifth in the MW averaging 2.22 blocks per set as a team. Jaida Harris ranks second in the league in both kills (3.67) and points (4.38) per set. Harris leads the MW averaging 0.38 service aces per set. Caleigh King's 3.51 digs per set ranks eighth in the conference.
San Diego State is led by Taylor Underwood's 3.98 points per set this season, which ranks sixth in the Mountain West. Zara Stewart's 3.65 digs per set ranks third-best in the league. Amber Keen leads SDSU averaging 1.06 blocks per set on the year.
The Aztecs hit just .194 as a team but their opponent hitting percentage of .196 is fourth-best in the MW. SDSU is seventh in the league in both assists (11.61) and kills (12.57) per set in 2025.
