Wyoming Cross Country in Texas for NCAA Mountain Regional

LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cross Country Teams are in the Lone Star State for Friday's NCAA Mountain Regional to be hosted in Lubbock, Texas, by Texas Tech University at the LCU Cross Country Course.
The women's 6k race will commence the meet beginning at 10 a.m. followed by the men's 10k race at 11 a.m.
The top-2 placing teams in each region automatically book their spot to next week's NCAA Cross Country Championship, while the remaining teams wait for an at-large bid. After teams have been determined, 40 additional individuals per gender are selected to compete based on finish at their respective regional championships.

Mountain Region
The Pokes race in one of, if not the best, regions in the country. With 11 ranked teams, five on the men's side and six on the women's side, competing this weekend in Texas. Northern Arizona boasts the No. 1 teams in the country while BYU ranks No. 3 on both sides.
The Mountain West is well represented in the national rankings and the region as well with New Mexico (No. 19 men), Air Force (No. 24 men) and Colorado State (No. 27 women).
The Cowboys slot in at No. 7 in thee Mountain Region while the Cowgirls rank No. 11 in the region heading into tomorrow.
Last Time Out
At the 2023 Mountain West Championships the Cowboys finished in fourth while the Cowgirls took a close sixth place finish with four through six separated by just four points.
