Rants & Raves: Air Force Edition
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., -- Air Force, statistically, featured the worst defense in the nation entering this one.

While many fans are laser focused on the fourth-quarter interception inside the Falcons' 3-yard line -- and rightfully so -- this Wyoming offense once again showed its ineptitude Saturday afternoon, finding the end zone just three times against a unit that was allowing 40 points an outing.
Jay Sawvel immediately pointed to the lack of offensive possessions.
"We did well right away, off the bat, you know, and got the ball down the field," Wyoming's second-year head coach said following this disheartening 24-21 loss to their Front Range rivals. "Then we went into a dead spell for a couple possessions in a row in the first half. And, look, we had four possessions in the first half. That's the type of game it was going to be, because we were going to defend them better than these other teams that give up touchdowns in three plays."
The Cowboys finished with nine total drives.
Three were punts. Two were picks, including a real head-scratcher from former starting quarterback Evan Svoboda, who attempted to throw a dump pass over the top of the line of scrimmage on 3rd-and-goal to fellow tight end John Michael Gyllenborg.
The heave was easily picked off in the end zone by Roger Jones Jr., thwarting the go-ahead score with 9:30 remaining in regulation.
Kaden Anderson, the actual signal caller, threw another interception -- his sixth in seven games -- on the ensuing possession, all but sealing this one for Troy Calhoun's Falcons.
Maybe Sawvel meant productive possessions?
"What do you think it's like? I mean, we lose a game by three points. We're not happy," Sawvel said just moments after his team fell to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in Mountain West play. "Everybody's pissed, you know? I mean, that's what they're supposed to be, right? Everybody's supposed to be pissed right now. Everybody's supposed to be upset right now."
The fanbase certainly is.
