Wyoming Golfers Complete Opening Rounds at Cowgirl Classic

MARICOPA, Ariz., -- The Cowgirls opened play at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Monday playing host at the AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona. After two rounds of play the Cowgirls sit in 13^th as a team led by Meghan Vogt who is tied for 31^st with one round to play.

Vogt paced the Cowgirls through extremely challenging wind conditions in the afternoon round posting a two-round score of 152 (+8). Jadan Gonzalez closed out her day with a two-round total of 154 (+10) finishing the day tied for 42^nd. The duo of Morgan Ryan and Samantha Hui each shot a 157 (+13) on the day sitting in a tie for 63^rd with on round left to play. Making her first career appearance in the starting lineup. Grace Dunkleberger finished the day tied for 77^th with a score of 160 (+16).

In action as an individual, Rachel Stoinski finished her day tied for 93^rd with a two-round score of 163 (+19).

As a team, the Cowgirls closed out the day in 13^th with a score of 616 (+40) sitting three strokes ahead of Mountain West foe Boise State while trailing 12^th place Santa Clara by just two strokes. With one round left to play, Sacramento State leads the team race with a score of 579 (+3) while UNLV sits in second with a score of 586 (+10).

The Cowgirls will wrap up the tournament tomorrow with the third round of play set to tee off at 8:30 a.m. MT.
