Wyoming Prepares to Defend Its Team Title Simpson Invitational

LARAMIE -- Wyoming Cowboy Golf will travel to the state of Colorado on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2-3 to defend its team title that it won a year ago at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
The Cowboys posted a tournament total of 838 (-2) to capture the 2022 Colorado Invitational by one stroke over the host Colorado Buffaloes.
Wyoming’s top four finishers in last year’s event all return this year. Cowboys Jaren Calkins and Kristof Panke both tied for fifth place and Patrick Azevedo and Jimmy Dales both tied for 26th in last year’s tournament.

This year’s Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational will feature 17 teams, including five Mountain West teams (Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Nevada and Wyoming); two Pac-12 team (Colorado and Washington State); Denver; Grand Canyon; Mercer; Northern Colorado; Rice; San Francisco; UT-Arlington; Utah Valley; UTEP; and Valparaiso.
