Wyoming QB Carson May to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal
LARAMIE -- Wyoming's quarterback room is down an arm.
Carson May, a former four-star prospect who spent his first collegiate season at the University of Iowa, announced Monday he will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. The Jones, Okla., native was ineligible during his lone season in Laramie after transferring from Coffeyville Community College (Kan.).
May ran the Cowboys' fourth-team offense during last Saturday's scrimmage inside War Memorial Stadium.
He has four seasons of eligibility remaining.

Evan Svoboda, the team's presumed starter in 2024, ran the first team, followed by senior Jayden Clemons and redshirt freshman Kaden Anderson. Former walk-on Gage Brook is still on the roster and three-star recruit Deyon Batiste will join the program this summer.
Jay Sawvel last week was asked about the quarterback room and who could slide into the No. 2 spot behind Svoboda.
"I probably say Jayden Clemons is probably in that spot," Wyoming's rookie head coach said. "I think Kaden Anderson is doing good things. He's really intelligent, and, you know, I saw some good things out of him today. I think there's progress there. I saw Jayden Clemons throw some really good balls today. So, it's going to be a close thing, but if we went into a game and played a game, like in two or three days, I'd probably say Jayden would be the one right now."
Named the Oklahoma Class 2A Player of the Year in 2021, May accounted for 9,915 yards of total offense -- 8,549 passing, 1,366 rushing -- and 119 touchdowns during his four-year career at Jones High School. Rivals.com ranked him the 13th-best pro-style quarterback prospect in the country. May, who led his team to an overall record of 38-11, was also selected to the Newsok Super 30 team as a senior.
Old Dominion, Western Michigan and Iowa offered May. Power-5 programs like Colorado, Iowa State, TCU and Oklahoma State kicked the tires on the 6-foot-4, 215-pound signal caller.
