LARAMIE -- Wyoming might have just landed the "best available" it's been searching for.

Enock Sibomana, a two-time national champion at North Dakota State, has officially signed with the Cowboys, according to a source familiar with the situation. The junior spent time at safety, nickel corner and, most-recently, outside linebacker, during his four seasons in Fargo.

He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Sibomana is the sixth transfer to commit since the spring game, joining wide receiver Michael Fitzgerald (Central Missouri), running back Max White (Iowa), punter Bart Edmiston (Jones Community College) and edge rushers Peter Eyabi (Riverside City College) and Chisom Ifeanyi (Florida Atlantic).

A running back is currently visiting campus and a defensive back will be in town next week.

The 5-foot-11, 206-pound Sibomana was a hot commodity on the open market after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal last week, receiving offers from Toledo, South Alabama, UTEP and the Cowboys' opening-day opponent, Akron.

What position will Sibomana play in Laramie? That is to be determined, a source said, adding, "The guy is violent in how he plays."

Last fall, the former Fargo South High School standout tallied a career-best 47 tackles, which was third-most on the Bison defense. He added two sacks, three pass breakups and snagged an interception -- a 34-yard pick-six -- in a road victory over Murray State. He also forced one of his two fumbles on the season that afternoon.

Sibomana made seven starts in 2024 and appeared in all 16 games under first-year head coach Tim Polasek, who served as the offensive coordinator at Wyoming from 2021-23.

The former zero-star prospect redshirted in 2021 and appeared in just three games the following season. He missed the entire '23 campaign after suffering a broken leg during the preseason. Prior to last fall, Sibomana played a grand total of 33 career snaps, split between defense and special teams, per the Bison Report.

Summer workouts are set to begin May 26 in Laramie.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
