Wyoming (5-13, 2-4 MW) controlled doubles play, earning wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. At No. 1, the tandem of Violetta Borodina and Dilnaz Mashabayeva got back on track with a 6-3 win. While at the third position, Serina Abriola and Ruby Young rolled, 6-1.

“It was a team win today,” said Head Coach Dean Clower. “We got after it on all three lines of doubles, we’re starting to play Wyoming Style doubles. They’re starting to get it. With this many freshmen, it takes time, but, they’re coming along.”

In singles, the Cowgirls picked up victories at the one, two and four positions. Borodina was able to win at No. 1, pulling out a hard-fought, straight-sets victory, winning 6-4 and 7-6 (7-2). At No. 2, Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia was able to rally in both sets as she came out on top, 6-4 and 7-5. Elena Trencheva at the four spot had the smoothest match as she won drama-free, 6-4 and 6-2.

“Our leadership was big today, V (Borodina), Serina (Abriola). The energy they bring to all the girls and the confidence that they give to them. V played with confidence and Elena learned from Friday. Moving forward, I want to see the same types of things. We just have to keep moving forward in the right direction,” continued Clower.

Wyoming hits the road next weekend for a pair of matches as three of its final four regular season contests will come away from home. The Cowgirls face Utah State Friday and Boise State Sunday. Both matches will be at 11 a.m.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
