Wyoming has passed the halfway point of the Mountain West Conference season. The Cowgirls are right in the middle of the standings, looking for a strong finish to ensure it has a top-six spot to advance to the conference tournament in November.
Wyoming is 4-5-5 overall and 2-2-2 (8 points) in conference play. That positions it in a tie for sixth with San Diego State.
Both Nevada-based schools reside ahead of the Cowgirls, making this road trip very impactful. The Wolf Pack are 5-10-0 overall but 3-3-0 (9 points) in league action, while the Rebels are 6-6-2 on the season and 4-1-1 (13 points) in conference contests.
Alyssa Bedard – this week’s Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week – leads the Cowgirls with five goals this season. She has 16 scores for her career, which ties her for eighth in school history.
Maddi Chance and Hadley Linder each have three goals to their name in 2024, while Kiley Ballek, Alisa Bunn and Taylor Brook have chipped in two scores apiece.
Goalkeeper, Haley Bartel, has played every minute this season in net for Wyoming. She’s turned away 51 shots and allowed 21 goals for a GAA of 1.50. Emily Rich paces Nevada, boasting five goals and a conference-best seven assists for 17 points.
The Wolf Pack have played a pair of goalies this season, however, Alyssa Szarlacki has made the last four starts, giving her eight for the season. She has logged 40 saves and surrendered 17 goals for a GAA of 2.13.
UNLV also has an unquestioned offensive leader in Trinity Buchanan who has six goals and five assists for 17 points this season. Hanne Bruer has started the majority of the games in net and has recorded 57 saves with 12 goals allowed for a GAA of 1.04, which ranks second in the conference.
Wyoming possesses a 7-4-1 lead in the all-time series with Nevada. The Cowgirls have won two of the last three matchups, including the last one in Reno where they rallied for a 3-1 victory.
UNLV owns a 16-7-4 lead in the all-time series with Wyoming. The Cowgirls haven’t won a game against the Rebels since 2019.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
