Another Former Cowboy Getting a Look in NFL Rookie Minicamp
LARAMIE -- Better late than never.
Jack Walsh, who started 37 games on Wyoming's offensive line during his collegiate career, will be in Denver this weekend for a rookie minicamp tryout with the Broncos, reuniting with former teammate Frank Crum, per Mike Klis of 9News.

The Illinois native is the ninth former Cowboy this spring who will be in an NFL camp, joining fellow lineman Caden Barnett (Chicago), running back Sam Scott (NY Jets) and tight ends John Michael Gyllenborg (Kansas City) and Evan Svoboda (LA Chargers).
Linebacker Brayden Johnson (New Orleans) and Tyce Westland (Denver) also got the call. So did former edge rusher Sabastian Harsh, who spent his final season at North Carolina State. He's headed to Houston.
Emmanuel Pregnon, a freshman All-American in Laramie in 2021, was selected by Jacksonville in the third round of last month's NFL Draft. He spent two years on the high plains before eventually transferring to USC and Oregon.
A three-year starter in the front five, Walsh was on the field for all 802 offensive snaps for the Cowboys last fall. He was the team's best pass blocker, according to Pro Football Focus, earning an overall rating of 74.2.

The 6-foot-3, 314-pound center allowed just one sack in 2025. He was penalized only four times in 12 games.
Walsh landed on the Lombardi and Outland Trophy preseason watch lists and was named to the preseason All-Mountain West team last July.
Destined to be a Cowboy, Walsh's father, John Walsh, suited up in Laramie in the late 80's. He played for Al Kincaid, Dennis Erickson and eventually Paul Roach, where he was part of back-to-back WAC Championship squads.
Though he was reportedly courted by a number of other programs after his junior season, he said then he never gave serious thought to leaving Wyoming.
Why?
"I want them to say that, 'You know, Jack Walsh was a team guy, a guy that gave it everything he had. He left no stones unturned,'" he said last July at Mountain West Media Days in Las Vegas. "I could have never imagined myself playing anywhere else. I love Wyoming. It's such a special place, and you don't understand that until you come see it, come live it. I can't wait to come back to a game when I'm 50 or 60 years old, talking about beating Texas Tech in '23 and that kind of stuff.
"It's been the biggest blessing in my life."
