Wyoming Basketball Lands First Transfer-Portal Commit
LARAMIE -- "Love guys who want to be Cowboys."
Wyoming head coach Sundance Wicks penned those words on X late Sunday night. Now, we know who he was referring to in that post.

Michael Mora, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound forward who spent last season at Division-II Cal State Monterey, has publicly announced he will join the program, becoming the first incoming transfer of the offseason.
He has three years of eligibility remaining.
The NCAA Transfer Portal officially opens April 7.
The Palo Alto, Calif., native averaged 17.2 points per game for the Sea Otters, connecting on nearly 43% of his attempts from the field. Mora also splashed 68-of-177 shots from beyond the arc. He finished with 499 points last season.
Mora failed to reach double-figures just three times in a 29-game slate. Eight times he netted more than 20 points, including a 41-point performance in a win over Cal Poly Pomona. He sank 11-of-22 shots, including eight three-pointers. Maybe more impressive, he reeled in nine rebounds and dished out five assists while turning the ball over just once.
Nearly 40 of Mora's 179 rebounds came on the offensive glass, a statistic Wyoming excelled at during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging a dozen per outing.
Mora, who played at Asheville School in North Carolina, the same program Cowboy assistant Nick Whitmore came to Laramie from in 2023, initially signed with the University of Vermont out of high school.
This offseason, Mora has received interest from more than 20 programs, including Northern Colorado, Montana, Idaho and Denver. He visited Laramie last Saturday, taking in football practice inside War Memorial Stadium.
Damarion Dennis, so far, is the only Cowboy to announce his intention to transfer from the program. The sophomore guard spent one season on the high plains, averaging 11.2 points and 3.2 rebounds a night.
Wyoming will also welcome incoming freshmen Madden Smiley (Windsor, Colo.) and Chris Pohl (Marshfield, Wisc.) into the fold this summer.
