LARAMIE -- Better pack a lunch, Gavin Gores.

You too Neil Summers, Renars Sondors and Linus Ruf.

In Saturday's exhibition meeting with Texas Christian inside the AI G. Langford Chaparral Center on the campus of Midland College, Xavier Edmonds will be awaiting your arrival to the Lone Star State.

Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. Mountain Time and the game can be heard on the Varsity Sports App, gowyo.com and on select stations of the Cowboy Sports Network with Erick Pauley on the call. Admission is free.

The 6-foot-8 senior forward, who was recently named to the preseason All-Big XII squad, netted 12.7 points per game last season after reaching double-figures 24 times in 35 outings. Edmonds also reels in 6.5 rebounds a night. The Long Beach, Calif., product capped the year with 11 double-doubles, including a 26-and-10 outing in a win over Kansas State.

Edmonds was a third team all-conference selection in 2025-26.

TCU, like Wyoming, has already taken part in a closed, "secret" scrimmage. That came against Metroplex rival SMU. Though the Horned Frogs fell 101-98, they saw an impressive debut from newcomer Gavin Sykes, who netted a game-high 35 points after connecting on 7-of-9 shots from deep.

Sykes was the Big West Rookie of the Year after averaging 19.4 points per night during his lone season at Long Beach State.

TCU also swept a pair of early August exhibition matchups with the University of Ottawa in San Juan, Costa Rica.

Head coach Jamie Dixon also added Luke Bamgboye from Texas Tech and West Virginia's DJ Thomas to the roster this offseason.

Bamgboye faced Wyoming last November, pulling down five rebounds and netting a single point in a 76-72 victory in Lubbock.

TCU Slid past Ohio State in the opening round of last spring's NCAA Tournament before falling to top-seeded Duke, 81-58.

The Cowboys opened the exhibition portion of the schedule last Sunday in Gillette with a 94-68 victory over Northern Colorado. Guards Naz Meyer (17 points) and Khaden Bennett, along with Gores, combined for more than 40 points for the Pokes.

A group of newcomers also added to the tally as UW gained an advantage on the glass and in the assist column.

The Cowboys took a double-digit lead into the half thanks to hot shooting. UW splashed more than 50% of its shots from the field and behind the arc. Gores and Meyer led the Pokes in the first frame, combining for 20-plus points. Wyoming continued the pressure in the second half, shooting better than 60% from the field. Sundance Wicks utilized his entire available roster in the win.

“It is a great opportunity for us and we will be playing a high major opponent to test us early,” Wicks said in August when this meeting with the Horned Frogs was announced. “To go down and play in Midland, I know we have some Pokes fans that represent the Brown and Gold in Texas, it will be a chance for us to get some experience against a well-coached team in TCU.”

A pair of former Wyoming standouts -- Brendan Wenzel and Noah Reynolds -- closed out their collegiate careers in Fort Worth. Both played under Wicks. Reynolds' brother, Nic Reynolds, is currently on the Cowboys' staff.

TCU, which was in the Mountain West Conference from 2006-12, leads the all-time series 12-9 with Wyoming. The Horned Frogs claimed the last meeting, 64-47, on Nov. 26, 2019, at the MGM Resorts Main Event in Las Vegas, Nev.

Wyoming will close out the exhibition portion of the schedule on Saturday, Oct. 24, hosting College of Idaho inside the Arena-Auditorium in the annual Jae Foundation Game.

Just The Facts: Size Doesn't Matter For Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium

Did you know it would take the populations of Gillette (32,857), Laramie (32,381), Rock Springs (23,319), Sheridan (17,844) and Wright (1,200) to create a sellout inside Michigan's famed 107,601-seat Big House, the largest college football stadium in the nation?

For those of you not familiar with the Cowboy State, those are Wyoming's third through sixth most inhabited cities, along with the small mining town in Campbell County.
