Wyoming Adds Nearly 300 Pounds to ’27 Recruiting Class
LARAMIE -- The Cowboys just added nearly 300 pounds to their recruiting class.
Noah Reid, who also already stands at 6 feet, 6 inches, announced Monday he will be joining the Wyoming football program, becoming the 10th known verbal commit so far in 2027.

"New colors, same mission," he penned on X. "Thank you to everyone who has helped me along this journey; all glory to God for the opportunity. Let’s put that work in."
Reid joins a group that already includes two receivers from the Denver area -- Alijah Landrum-Hamilton and Levi Rillos -- along with a pair of quarterbacks in Illinois' Michael Vander Luitgaren and Tucker Ingersoll of Arvada, Colo. Jay Sawvel and Co. have also added 290-pound nose tackle Kingston Beyer of Fort Worth, Texas, linebacker Drew Benassi of Lee's Summit, Mo., defensive back Karson McKenzie of Englewood, Colo., and 6-foot-5 tight end Thomas Prescott, who was one of Vander Luitgaren's top downfield targets at Batavia High School.
Just before Reid made his decision public, Cache McFadden announced he was staying home. The standout signal caller at Cody High School will transition to the safety spot fulltime in Laramie.
Reid, who has a near 7-foot wingspan and squats a Shawnee Mission North record 585 pounds, lined up at left tackle in high school.
He received interest from in-state powers like Kansas and Kansas State, but fielded offers from Akron, Florida Atlantic, Florida International and many other smaller regional schools like Fort Hays State, McPherson and Pitt State, among others.
Sawvel and Co. are typically in the single digits when it comes to verbal commitments this early in the recruiting cycle during his three years on the sidelines in Laramie. Craig Bohl's tenure on the high plains was no different.
Sawvel has said numerous times in the past he likes to put prospects on the sidelines for games in the fall inside War Memorial Stadium. The ultimate number before summer closes could reach 15, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Wyoming's known commits have bumped the 2027 class, so far, up to 96th nationally out of 138 FBS programs. UNLV (59), North Dakota State (89) and New Mexico (90) are rated higher. The rest of the Mountain West ranks like this: Hawaii (97), San Jose State (100), Nevada (103), Northern Illinois (118) and Air Force (N/A).
