LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowboys continue their road swing on Monday heading to Grand Canyon. The contest marks the first time this season that the Pokes will face off against a team that played in the NCAA Tournament last season. It will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The contest will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Reece Monaco will have the call with Kevin McKinney on color.

The game will also be televised on ESPN-Plus.

About The Teams

Wyoming heads to Grand Canyon with a 3-0 overall record after defeating Washington in overtime last Thursday by a score of 77-72. The Cowboys have held opponents to under 33 percent shooting in the first three contests of the season. Wyoming is averaging 82.3 points per game and are allowing 54.7 per contest. The Cowboys have also been solid on the glass this season with 42.7 rebounds per game and have a +8.0 rebound margin. The Pokes are shooting 53 percent from the field this season.

The Lopes are led by second-year head coach Bryce Drew. He guided Grand Canyon to its first-ever NCAA tournament last season after capturing the Western Athletic Conference tournament title. The Lopes ended last season with a 17-7 record, falling to Iowa in the opening-round of the NCAA tourney. GCU was selected to finish second in the WAC preseason poll, garnering three first-place votes. The Lopes are 3-0 on the young season with three double-digit home wins over Grambling, North Florida and Prairie View A&M.

About The Players

Wyoming is led in scoring this season by forward Graham Ike. He is adding 23.0 points per game and leads the team with 7.7 rebounds per night. He recorded his first career double-double at Washington. Guard Hunter Maldonado adds 19.7 points per game. He ranks second on the team with 7.3 rebounds per night. He also leads the team with 14 assists and recorded a double-double at Washington as well. Forward Jeremiah Oden adds 12.7 points per game and is shooting 75 percent from the field. He also leads the Cowboys with five blocks on the season.

Jovan Blacksher Jr. paces GCU, which has three players averaging double figures. He pours in 13.3 points per game, while Holland Woods II and Gabe McGlothan add 12.7 and 12.0 points per contest, respectively.

About The Series

Wyoming and Grand Canyon will meet for the first time on Monday. It will be the first of two trips to Arizona this season, as the Pokes will face the University of Arizona in December.
