Pokes’ first MW games against UNLV postponed

LARAMIE -- You didn't just expect cancelations in football did you?

Due to positive COVID-19 cases within the UNLV men’s basketball program, the two-game series between the Cowboys and UNLV Runnin’ Rebels on Dec. 20 and 22 has been postponed.

That was supposed to be Wyoming's first series in Mountain West play this season. Now, Jeff Linder's team will likely open its league slate Jan. 2 at Fresno State.

Wyoming's football team played just six of its eight originally scheduled games. Air Force and Utah State were forced to cancel because of the virus.

The rescheduled dates of the UNLV series will be announced once finalized by the Mountain West and both institutions.
