LARAMIE -- Kaden Anderson wasn't about to apologize during his postgame press conference Thursday night outside a joyous visiting locker room.

Nor should he.

Wyoming's sophomore quarterback, smiling ear to ear, was fresh off a 19-for-36 performance in which he threw for 260 yards and a touchdown in a 10-0 victory over Akron inside InfoCision Stadium.

Was it ideal?

No.

The Cowboys were just 2-of-4 on 3rd-and-2 or less. That mark dropped even more on fourth down, landing at 1-for-3. That unit turned it over on downs twice. It found the end zone just once, a simple fourth-quarter bubble screen that wideout Chris Durr Jr. turned into a 35-yard sprint to the white stripe.

Wyoming did rack up 426 yards of total offense, aided by a 132-yard rushing day from senior Sam Scott.

Finishing, though, was another story. One Anderson said will be fixed this week in practice.

Hell no," he quipped when asked if he felt some here-we-go-again creeping into his mind as this low-scoring outing dragged on. "The way the defense was playing, I knew the defense was going to get us the ball back. I knew we were going to win the game. There's no doubt in my mind. When we got that first field goal, I said, 'Alright, we're going to win.'

Cody Tucker and Jared Newland discussed the offensive effort in the Rubber City on the latest Roaring Repeater Podcast, along with the first shutout this program has pitched since 2017. The last time the Cowboys blanked an FBS team? That came all the way back in 2010 against Border War rival Colorado State.

Alvester Alexander just scored again.

We also breakdown the upcoming matchup this Saturday against Northern Iowa, take a walk down memory lane and, yes, reveal the "stupidest s***" we read this week. We also get into betting lines and the week that was in the Mountain West and across the country.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
