LARAMIE -- "Someone might want to cover that guy."

Admit it, you said those very words as Danny Scudero crossed the white stripe not once, not twice, not three times, but four times over the first 20-plus minutes of action Saturday night inside War Memorial Stadium.

The second-best pass defense in the nation was getting cooked by the leading receiver in the nation. The 5-foot-9 sophomore hauled in a picture-perfect 43-yarder on San Jose State's first possession. The next toss from Walker Eget was a 72-yard pitch and catch.

The other two, a little less impressive, came from seven and two yards out, respectively.

Wyoming had no answers. The Spartans built a 28-14 lead and appeared to be in the driver's seat.

They weren't.

Those were the last points of the night for the visitors, coming with 10:19 remaining in the second quarter. The Cowboys' secondary allowed Scudero to rack up 151 yards on six catches in the first half.

Over the final 30 minutes: 29 on four grabs. He also dropped six balls on the night.

You drank to excess, you were eating cheese directly off the block, you were relentlessly, and rightfully so -- at times, mocking yet another embarrassing showing for this Wyoming offense.

Then came the fireworks.

The Cowboys win this one 35-28 to move to 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in Mountain West play. Up next: Front Range rival Air Force.
