The Cowboys and Cowgirls will kick off the season when they host the Wyoming Invite at 9 a.m. MT, on Aug. 30, in Cheyenne, Wyo., at the Little America Golf Course. This will be the fifth-straight year Wyoming hosts the invite to start the season.

Next stop, the reigning men’s gold division champions and women’s third-place team finishers return to the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 19, in St. Paul, Minn. In last season's meet hosted by the University of Minnesota, both teams saw their best finishes ever and look to keep the trend going.

The Pokes will take the rest of September off before heading to the University of Notre Dame to compete at the Joe Piane Invitational on October 3, in South Bend, Ind. Last year, Wyoming set 11 Top-15 program times at the meet and upset two Top-25 teams on the men’s and women’s side.

Wyoming will close the regular season on a course they hope to race again when they take on the Pre Nationals meet, the site of the NCAA Championships. The meet will be held on Oct. 18, in Columbia, Mo., hosted by the University of Missouri.

Championship season will start with the Mountain West Championships on Oct. 31, in Fresno, Calif., the first time Fresno State will host the championship since 2014.

The NCAA Mountain Regional will take place Nov. 14 in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the Cowboys and Cowgirls fighting for a bid to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 22, in Columbia, Missouri.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
