Rants & Raves: Hawaii Edition
HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Wyoming's conference title drought is nearly 32 years old.
Jurassic Park was the No. 1 at the box office, you were likely jamming to Whitney Houston's hit "I will always love you" and the internet was in its infancy. Bill Clinton was in the White House and a Walkman would run you around $30 -- for a nice one.

That was also a shared championship with BYU and Fresno State.
The last outright crown came in 1988.
Sigh.
This Cowboy offense just finished off a November slate with two total touchdowns and four straight losses. In the latest debacle, a 27-7 setback at Hawaii in the season finale, Jones Thomas was responsible for the lone score.
He's a safety.
The Fort Collins product stepped in front of a Micah Alejandro throw in the first quarter and returned it 50 yards to give the visitors an early lead. Wyoming's offense, led by rookie Mason Drube, who was under center the entire second half, managed just 256 total yards, 202 of which came through the air.
The run game, which wasn't working anyway, was tossed in the garbage heap early in this one as the Rainbow Warriors began to tack on explosive plays, including touchdowns of 19, 78 and 41 yards.

The team's leading wideout, Chris Durr Jr., watched this one from Laramie. So did the best option in the backfield, Samuel "Tote" Harris. Fellow running back Terron Kellman didn't travel, either.
All are dealing with injuries. And let's be real, would it have really mattered anyway?
Another lost season is in the books. Signing day is Wednesday. That is Jay Sawvel's first order of business. Once he inks those "19-to-21" fresh faces, roster construction will get underway. The transfer portal looms. This staff needs to utilize that tool more than ever to get this offense "remade."
That will likely include a proven quarterback and an offensive coordinator to match, among a number of other issues that need to be addressed. What will the identity of that unit be in the future? The head coach better figure it out, and fast.
