Wyoming Lands Verbal From 3-Star Quarterback Prospect
LARAMIE -- Would Wyoming even be in the market for a quarterback in next year's recruiting cycle with Kaden Anderson and Gillette's Mason Drube currently on the roster.
That question was answered on Wednesday.
This day and age, you just never know.

Taylor Hasselbeck, a three-star recruit from Ensworth High School in Nashville, announced his commitment to the school via social media, becoming the second known verbal in the 2026 class.
Fort Collins product Pierce Decker, a 6-foot-7 offensive lineman, is the other.
Does the name Hasselbeck sound familiar? It should.
Taylor's father, Tim Hasselbeck, lined up under center for parts of eight NFL seasons before becoming an analyst on ESPN. His brother, Matt Hasselbeck, was an 18-year veteran, spending a decade at quarterback in Seattle. He was also a fixture at the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
Those two now serve as Taylor's head coach and offensive coordinator, respectively, in Music City.
The patriarch of the family, the late Don Hasselbeck, was a former second-round draft pick, playing tight end for the Patriots, Raiders, Vikings and Giants. He won a Super Bowl title in 1983.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Taylor's mom, might just be the most popular of them all.
She once co-hosted popular talk shows "The View" -- where she received a Daytime Emmy Award -- and "Fox and Friends." She was also a contestant on the second season of "Survivor."
Her son tells 7220sports.com he's "Pumped up to be a Cowboy."
Taylor Hasselbeck threw for 1,790 yards and 18 touchdowns last fall -- his first season as a full-time starter -- while leading the Tigers to an appearance in the Tennessee DII-AAA state semifinals. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound signal caller connected on nearly 71% of his throws (134-of-190) and tossed just three interceptions.
He received offers from Tulsa, Eastern Michigan and Murray State. According to 247sports, a popular recruiting website, Power-4 programs Auburn, Duke and North Carolina State also kicked the tires.
Hasselbeck also heard from Ivy League schools Harvard and Yale, as well as Coastal Carolina and Liberty.
Wyoming's second-year offensive coordinator Jay Johnson took the lead on Hasselbeck's recruitment, according to a source familiar with the situation, traveling to Tennessee to watch him throw.
Hasselbeck, per his X account, visited Laramie in early April.
