Cowboys Land Edge Rusher from FAU in Portal
LARAMIE -- Jay Sawvel said he was in search of a dynamic pass rusher in the spring transfer portal after losing a pair of potential starters at the defensive end position.
It appears he found one.
Chisom Ifeanyi, a graduate transfer who spent last season at Florida Atlantic, has committed to Wyoming, he confirmed to 7220sports late Friday night.

He is bringing his 12.5 career sacks and 18 tackles for loss with him, too.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Langshore, Pa., product has one season of eligibility remaining.
Why Laramie? That answer is a simple one.
"The great culture and the coaching it provided to improve my game," Ifeanyi said.
Ifeanyi, who played his first three collegiate seasons at Shippensburg University, a Division-II program in his home state, is the third incoming transfer this April, joining punter Bart Edmiston Jr. (Jones Community College), wideout Michael Fitzgerald (Central Missouri) and fellow defensive end Peter Eyabi (Riverside City College).
Sawvel said he received two commitments last Saturday before the Cowboys' annual spring game. Edmiston was one of those. The other has yet to publicly announce his decision.

Ifeanyi tallied 22 tackles, including five for loss and 3.5 sacks during his lone season in Boca Raton. His best outing came in a blowout loss at UConn, registering five tackles, four of which were the solo variety. In the season finale at Tulsa, he racked up 1.5 sacks and forced a fumble in a 47-point road route.
No wonder the Golden Hurricane pursued him this offseason. Along with Wyoming, Coastal Carolina also offered.
During his three-year stint at Shippensburg (2021-23), Ifeanyi finished with 37 tackles, including 13 for loss. He also broke up six passes and even returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown in 2023. He also forced three fumbles and recovered two more.
Ifeanyi joins a defensive end room that includes just one starter, Tyce Westland.
Sabastian Harsh and Dawan Martin left the program this spring. The latter was a transfer from Youngstown State. It's not clear whether it was his decision to leave. Harsh was a three-year contributor. He signed with North Carolina State.
Braden Siders and Ethan Day also entered free agency this offseason, landing at West Virginia and North Texas, respectively. Adrian Onyiego, a redshirt freshman, is also in the portal.
Sawvel and Co. restocked the cupboards themselves, bringing in transfers Brayden Wilson (Weber State) and Esaia Bogar (Riverside City College). The staff also inked three freshmen: Cade Brook (Aurora, Colo.), Jason Handy (Cedar Park, Texas) and Axel Ramazani (Des Moines, Iowa).
That group joins returners Tell Wade, Jordan Turnbull (Achilles injury - out until at least October), Eltoum Murgus and Kevin Sjogren.
