Cowgirls Overcome Early Deficit, Upend Montana, 3-1
MISSOULA, Mont., -- Wyoming isn't used to trailing.
You would have no idea after the way the visitors responded to an early Montana goal.

Hadley Linder found the back of the net less than two minutes after the Griz took its lead, redirecting a perfect pass from Reese Gould. Maddie Burr buried a put-back in the 54th minute, giving the Cowgirls a lead it wouldn't relinquish in a 3-1 victory in Montana.
Isabel Vasco netted her third goal of the season on a feed from Alyssa Glover late in regulation.
“We were not going hit the panic button,” head coach Josh Purdum said after the Cowgirls fourth straight win. “We are going to be tested in conference and tested in these types of situations. We need to be sure we are sticking to our game plan, and the girls did a fantastic job not hitting the panic button and kept playing our style.
“It’s a testament to our mindset.”
The Cowgirls are now 6-2-0 on the season.
Haley Bartel wasn’t all that busy in net for Wyoming, officially making one save. A big reason for Bartel’s tepid evening was the fact that her teammates dominated on the stat sheet. The Cowgirls outshot the Grizzlies, 22-3. Ten different players registered a shot, while Vasco and Kiley Ballek led the way with four each.
Wyoming remains on the road for its final non-conference match of the season. It travels to Colorado State on Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest at the CSU Soccer Field.
