LARAMIE -- Remember the name John Santiago?

You should. Guaranteed Craig Bohl does.

Santiago, then a freshman running back at North Dakota, gashed the Cowboys to the tune of 148 yards on the ground. He also found the end zone twice on that early September afternoon as the Fighting Hawks rolled to an easy 24-13 victory inside War Memorial Stadium.

"It was a tough loss and we need to take a measured view of it," Bohl told reporters back in 2015. "There’s not just one game -- it's a long season ahead -- but it was a disappointing loss. As coaches and players, we need to come back tomorrow and take an aggressive approach on improving with our lack of performance today.”

That was North Dakota's first win over an FBS opponent in eight tries.

Just three years prior, Wyoming suffered another setback at the hands of an FCS team. Cal Poly rolled into Laramie and stunned Shaun Wick and the Cowboys, 24-22.

During Bohl's tenure on the high plains, his teams have gone 7-1 against the FCS. It's rarely been pretty, though. Aside from a 45-22 victory over UC Davis in 2016 (remember who Wyoming's QB was then?) and a 22-0 blanking off Gardner Webb the following season (same signal caller), the Cowboys have struggled mightily.

Four of those outings -- Montana, Wofford, Idaho and Montana State -- have come by six points or less. Last season, Wyoming led Northern Colorado 6-0 at half. It was just 13-3 after three quarters before Andrew Peasley and Co. pulled away to claim a 33-10 win.

Can the Cowpokes break that trend today with Portland State in town?

Cody Tucker, Jared Newland and guest Mike Skinner broke it all down on the latest 7220sports.com Kickoff Show, which you can find right HERE.
