Kasey Orr was one of many Wyoming children only born in Laramie because it was the closest hospital to the tiny town in which their family lived. In this case, Medicine Bow. He spent his formative years in similar Wyoming hamlets before his family settled in Cheyenne for good. After a brief stay at the University of Wyoming — and being struck by what his mother will assure anyone who asks was utter insanity — Kasey enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout. After several years stationed in Germany and two combat deployments to Iraq, he returned to the Rocky Mountains to get back to his education. In the pursuit of becoming a professional storyteller and all-around digital media nerd, Kasey's studies included video production, journalism and design just to name a few. He was recruited to a small newspaper in Douglas, Wyoming, by a certain gruff, bearded sports reporter you may be familiar with. He joined forces with Cody Tucker for the first time. Kasey spent several years at the paper earning state and national awards in writing, photography and design. He moved south to finished his degree in another square state we won't mention, where he worked as a video producer. He produced projects for various companies large and small, worked on the set of several television shows, and became a segment producer for a program on Altitude Sports Network. In late 2018, he received another call from Cody Tucker offering him a spot on his team. "Do you want to go back to Wyoming and cover UW sports," Cody had asked. "[Expletive] yes," Kasey replied. Kasey manages digital media, as well as being a designer, video producer and journalist for 7220sports.com. He and his German Shepard, Charlie, are happy to be back in Cheyenne near his parents, sister and old friends.
