LARAMIE -- University of Wyoming swimmer Katelyn Blattner turned in a boast-worthy performance at the Rocky Mountain Invitational this past weekend. For her efforts, the fifth-year senior was named Mountain West Conference Swimmer of the Week.

Blattner won the 500-yard freestyle Friday. She clocked in at 5:03.56, besting a field comprised of Air Force, Denver and LSU swimmers.

Blattner also placed runner-up in a pair of other individual races during the meet. She took second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.87, and touched second in the 200-yard freestyle after swimming a time of 1:53.66.

Blattner swam a leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay that placed third, logging a time of 3:30.39.

The Cowgirls are back in action next week. They host Northern Colorado on Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. at Laramie High School.
