Cowboys Snag Combo Guard Out Of Transfer Portal
LARAMIE -- Wyoming has landed its second transfer of the offseason.
Damarion Dennis, a sophomore combo guard, announced Thursday he will join the Cowboy basketball program after spending his first-collegiate season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The San Antonio product averaged 6.7 points per game and dished out 1.3 assists while playing nearly 18 minutes a night. Dennis started nine games and appeared in all of the Islanders' 34 contests.
He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Dennis joins forward Buddy Hammer, who comes to Laramie after playing one year at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
Six Cowboys have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal since the spring window opened on March 24, including guards Obi Agbim (Baylor), Nigle Cook, Levi Brown and AJ Wills.
Big men Scottie Ebube and Oleg Kojenets are also on the open market.
Only two scholarship players remain -- forwards Matija Belic and Abou Magassa -- and Wyoming head coach Sundance Wicks and his staff have added three high school prospects: Forwards Gavin Gores (6'10", 210, Cumberland, Wisconsin) and Neil Summers (6'9", 240, Laramie, Wyo.) and guard Nasir Meyer (6'7", 185, Los Angeles, Calif.).
Freshman walk-on Garrett Spielman of Sheridan is also currently on the roster.
A former three-star prospect and the all-time leading scorer at Veterans Memorial High School, Dennis was recruited by Louisiana Tech, Incarnate Word, Niagara, UT-Arlington and others after earning all-district MVP.
Dennis finished in double-figures six times last season, including a pair of 13-point nights. He connected on more than 48% of his shots from the field and hit nearly 39% of his attempts from deep.
He was also a 74.8% free-throw shooter.
In arguably his best outing of the 2024-25 campaign, Dennis netted 10 points in a lopsided loss to then-ranked No. 15 Houston, who this weekend will be playing in the Final Four. He also pulled down five rebounds and finished with a pair of helpers.
Maybe his most impressive stat is: 18.
That's the total number of turnovers Dennis committed last winter. He didn't hand it over one time during a six-game stretch in January. He netted double-digits in four of those outings and nine in the other two.
The current portal window will close April 22.
