LARAMIE -- Simm-Marten Saadi is hitting the open market.

The soon-to-be-sophomore forward announced Monday on social media he will be entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, joining former Wyoming teammates Adam Harakow and Damarion Dennis in free agency.

Saadi has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

"I would like to thank the University of Wyoming for giving me the opportunity," he penned on X. "I'm grateful to my teammates for pushing me, my coaches for believing in me and the fans for showing love every step of the way. I'm proud of what we built together and excited for what comes next.

"With that being said, after talking to my family and close ones, I have decided to put my name in the transfer portal."

The 6-foot-9 Estonia product averaged 3.2 points per game while shooting 35% from the field. He appeared in 32 games and was in the starting lineup for three of those. Saadi reached double figures just twice while averaging less than nine minutes a night.

His best outing came during a 70-65 road upset of Grand Canyon where the big man drained a trio of triples and finished with a career-high 13 points. He also added 10 in the regular-season finale at San Jose State.

"He's a typical freshman that's still trying to find his way," Wyoming head coach Sundance Wicks said in late February. "The hardest thing is to be able to break through and find that little rotation piece where you're like, 'Man, all right, I kind of feel good about it right now.'

"But it's the defense and rebounding that really keeps you on the floor, right?"

Saadi attempted just three shots during the Cowboys' brief postseason run, missing on all of them.

Last weekend fellow rookies Naz Meyer and Gavin Gores, along with senior guard Uriyah Rojas, announced they would return to Laramie next season. They will join forward Michael Mora, who penned on social media he will be inking with the Cowboys after spending last season at Division-II Cal State Monterey where he averaged 17.2 points per outing.

Wyoming will also welcome incoming freshmen Madden Smiley (Windsor, Colo.) and Chris Pohl (Marshfield, Wisc.) into the fold this summer.

The two-week transfer window is set to officially open tomorrow.
