UW Swim Finishes Day One of UNLV Invite

LAS VEGAS, Nev., – The University of Wyoming swim team kicked off day one of the UNLV Finis Invite on Monday.

The Cowgirls and Cowboys competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle and the 400-yard medley relay.

The Cowgirls took third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.95, comprised of Tara Joyce, Rachael Horne, Mikayla Moore and Lauren Swartz. The Cowboys took fourth in the same event with a time of 1:19.87, entailing Luke O’Connor, Quinn Teller, Adam Pannell and Caleb Ozenne.

Macey Hansen had a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, going 4:50.31.

In the 200-yard IM, Kayla Cunningham came in fifth with a time of 2:03.27.

Coming in fifth in the 50-yard freestyle, Joyce swam a 23.04. Teller took sixth in the same event with a time of 20.34.

Sydney Metzler, Brynlee Busskohl, Kali Franckowiak and Joyce finished fourth in the 400-yard medley relay, having swam a 3:42.34. Ozenne, Andrew Ravegum, Pannell and Teller swam a 3:14.14 for sixth place in the 400-yard medley relay.

Tomorrow the Pokes are back in the pool with preliminaries beginning at 10:30 a.m. and finals starting at 6:00 p.m.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert Gagliardi, Jared Newland, Ryan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
