Wyoming drops 1-0 contest against Colorado College
LARAMIE -- The Wyoming soccer team (1-4-0, 1-4-0 MW) opened up the weekend with a 1-0 loss against the Colorado College (4-1-0) on Friday afternoon. The two teams recently played on Monday, March 15.
"We lost too many 1 versus 1 battles. There were 50-50 balls that we were standing in front of somebody and we let them get the first touch," head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "We need to fight harder in those moments and win those in order to defeat a team like Colorado College. The conditions were a little tough today, so they become more important."

Colorado College really pushed the pace in the opening part of the match. The first opportunity game at the 15:24 with a look by Jacqui Hand that hit the post. She recorded the next two shots in the 16th minute that went wide and was saved by junior goalie Hannah Lee.

The Tigers would record three more shots but it was still a 1-0 lead headed into halftime.
In the second half, the Cowgirls had one of its few opportunities with a shot by sophomore Jamie Tatum that was blocked with 51:20 on the clock. Wyoming's defense seem to hold the Tigers in check with only four shots and no goals, but had trouble getting anything going offensively and were unable to score the equalizer with Colorado College went on to the win.
Goalies Lee and sophomore Alex Daws each split time with 45 minutes a piece and had a combined four saves. Junior Savannah Warner played a team-high 90 minutes followed by fellow junior Indianna Asimus and freshman Nikayla Copenhaver with 77 minutes. Tatum had the lone shot for the Cowgirls on the day.
The Cowgirls will be close out their home campaign on Sunday against the Air Force Falcons. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. MT at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex. It will be the final match seniors Grace Collins, Molly Kuhbacher and Elle Webber.
"The three seniors have had great careers," Cuadrado added. "They have added to our program both on and off the field. I'm hoping we can make it a great day for them and hope to get out of it with a positive result. We look forward to celebrating them and their day."
