Marcus Epps Agrees on 1-Year Deal to Remain With Eagles
LARAMIE -- Marcus Epps is staying in the City of Brotherly Love.
The seven-year NFL veteran agreed to terms with the Eagles last Friday, inking a one-year deal. The 6-foot, 198-pound safety signed with Philadelphia last August, two days after being released by the New England Patriots.

Epps also suited up for the Eagles from 2019-22 before signing a two-year, $12 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The 30-year-old was on the field for 250 defensive snaps a season ago, making four starts in relief of an injured Drew Mukuba. He was also a constant on the Eagles' special teams unit, appearing in 12 games.
Epps tallied 21 tackles, including a pair for loss.
A former walk-on at the University of Wyoming, Epps was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was waived that November after appearing in eight games as a rookie. Philadelphia claimed him the following day and he registered seven tackles over the next five outings.

During his first stint with the Eagles, Epps racked up 208 tackles, including a career-high 94 during the 2022 campaign. He also picked off three passes during that timeframe.
Epps currently has 315 stops, 224 of the solo variety, on his résumé.
In Laramie, the Edison High School product capped a standout career with 325 tackles, 19.5 of which came behind the line of scrimmage. He also intercepted nine passes between 2015-18. Epps returned one of those picks for a touchdown. That was a 66-yard jaunt during a 27-24 road loss at Eastern Michigan in '16.
Epps' running mate in UW's secondary, Andrew Wingard, also recently signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals after spending the first seven years of his career in Jacksonville.
Another one of Epps' Wyoming teammates, linebacker Logan Wilson, announced last week he would be retiring after six seasons in the NFL.
Epps was one of a dozen Cowboys on an NFL roster at the culmination of last season, joining Carl Granderson (New Orleans), Logan Wilson (Dallas), Marcus Epps (Philadelphia), Treyton Welch (New Orleans), Chad Muma (New England), Tyler Hall (Seattle), Wyett Ekeler (Indianapolis), Frank Crum (Denver), Solomon Byrd (Houston), Isaiah Neyor (Green Bay) and Allen.
