Wyoming’s Gibbs, Crum Accept Invite to NFL Combine
LARAMIE -- A couple of Cowboys have important job interviews ahead.
Easton Gibbs and Frank Crum have accepted invitations to the NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 29 through March 3 inside Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. Both players confirmed the news on Friday.
Gibbs, a middle linebacker from Temecula, Calif., is forgoing his final season of eligibility after a 109-tackle campaign in Laramie. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound senior capped his collegiate career with 361 stops, good enough for eighth in the school's record books.
"Blessed and excited to showcase my abilities and represent the great school and state of Wyoming," Gibbs said Friday when asked what this nod means to him.
The First-Team All-Mountain West selection is currently in Frisco, Texas, where he is preparing to play in the annual East-West Shrine Game Thursday, Feb. 1. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. Mountain Time and will be televised on NFL Network.
Gibbs stayed in Laramie this offseason and is currently training for the combine with UW Director of Sports Performance Eric Donoval.
Gibbs was dubbed the heir apparent to Chad Muma, who was a third-round selection of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2022 NFL Draft. Logan Wilson, another Wyoming linebacker, was the Bengals third-round pick two seasons prior. Cassh Maluia, Wilson's running mate, was also taken in that draft. He landed in New England in the sixth round.
Muma and Wilson also participated in the NFL Combine.

Crum, who also was named to the All-Mountain West squad, appeared in 57 career games -- 49 starts -- on the Cowboys offensive line. He helped pave the way for two 1,000-yard running backs -- Titus Swen and Xazavian Valladay -- during his time on the high plains.
Twice he was on units that earned a spot on the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll, an honor given to the top offensive line in the nation.
"It means a great deal to me that a kid raised in Laramie, Wyoming is getting the opportunity to go out and participate in the NFL Combine," Crum said on Friday afternoon.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound senior lined up at right tackle for three seasons before making the move to Andrew Peasley's blindside in 2023. Crum appeared in the annual Hula Bowl in Orlando earlier this month.
Crum is currently training in the Phoenix area.
Gibbs will take center stage with the rest of the top linebackers in the nation on Thursday, Feb. 29. Drills are set to begin at 1 p.m. Mountain Time. The offensive lineman will get their opportunity to perform Sunday, March 3.
All events will be broadcast on the NFL Network.
