Can the Cowboys put forth the same kind of impressive effort they did last week in a narrow 17-13 home loss to 12th-ranked Boise State? Can the visitors end this forgettable season on a high note?

We will all find out together.

What we do know is starting quarterback Kaden Anderson will miss this game after suffering a concussion late in the first half against Boise State, per sources. Evan Svoboda will be under center in Pullman. Wide receiver TK King and right tackle Caden Barnett will also be sidelined with injuries. There has also been an illness running rampant in the Pokes' locker room.

When it rains it pours, right?

This week, we eye the future. In many, many interviews with numerous players over the last month, a common theme has emerged: This is a bad year, not a bad program.

Jay Sawvel has reiterated that, adding that he doesn't expect to lose players he "doesn't want to lose" in the NCAA Transfer Portal, which opens Dec. 9.

Will some guys go? That's likely.

But keep in mind, these scenarios aren't exclusive. It's not always about leaving for the bigger, better program and the "quick riches" of NIL. In fact, it rarely is. Most players are asked to look elsewhere, and never will that be more prevalent than now with rosters being trimmed to just 105 across the sport.

Wyoming entered this campaign with 118. Nebraska, for instance, featured 150-plus.

Those new rules have been written about a number of times this week. You can find all the latest below:

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
