LARAMIE -- "As of right now, I don't have a reason to leave,"

Wyoming guard Adam Harakow said that 22 days ago, less than 24 hours before the Cowboys fell to UNLV in the opening round of the Mountain West Tournament. The 6-foot-7 junior netted just four points, two of which came at the free-throw line, in 14 minutes of work.

"Obviously, the coaching staff has been great to me," the Edmonton, Alberta product continued. and I've obviously had good moments with my coaches, So, no, it's been good."

Something changed between then and Wednesday.

The southpaw, who spent the two previous seasons at Division II Lake Superior State, penned on social media that he intends to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, joining Damarion Dennis as the only player to publicly announce their intentions of leaving the program.

Free agency is set to open April 7. Harakow has one season of eligibility remaining.

Harakow averaged 6.1 points per night while shooting 46.3% from the field. He also netted better than 38% of his attempts from beyond the arc. Mainly playing a sixth-man role, he pulled down nearly three rebounds a night while appearing in all 33 games.

"Adam is a curious case for me in a lot of ways, because he's like this ultimate competitor, too," head coach Sundance Wicks said back in December. "He's got like, this crazy competitive streak to him, but he's spacey sometimes. In practice, I'm like, 'Are you here, dude? Like, where are you at right now?'

But he's just got this vibe about him. That guy goes out there and competes. And I don't care if you play him 40 minutes or if you play him 10 minutes or five minutes or 20 minutes, something good is going to happen when he's out there."

Harakow appeared in 63 career games prior to his arrival in Laramie. During the 2024-25 campaign, he scored nearly 12 points per game to go along with 4.4 rebounds while playing 19 minutes a night

He scored in double figures just twice during conference play, both times against Front Range rival Air Force. His best individual outing of the season came against visiting Norfolk State. Harakow drilled 6-of-14 shots from the field, including a pair of triples, while sinking a season-best 18 points. He also secured five rebounds in the 75-67 victory.

It's been a quiet offseason, to this point, for a program that has been decimated by transfers in recent seasons.

Wicks said his top priority this offseason was retention. He has also begun adding to the roster. On Monday, 6-foot-6 forward Michael Mora announced on social media he will be inking with the Cowboys after spending last season at Division-II Cal State Monterey where he averaged 17.2 points per outing.

Wyoming will also welcome incoming freshmen Madden Smiley (Windsor, Colo.) and Chris Pohl (Marshfield, Wisc.) into the fold this summer.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
