LARAMIE -- Another former Wyoming guard is headed to the Big XII.

Last year it was Obi Agbim, who landed at Baylor. Noah Reynolds and Brendan Wenzel both capped their collegiate careers at TCU.

Now, it's Damarion Dennis' turn.

The San Antonio product is heading to Lubbock where he will join the roster at Texas Tech -- and former Wyoming head coach Jeff Linder -- after spending one season in Laramie. Dennis, who connected on 52% of his looks from the field, averaged 11.2 points per game during his lone year in a Cowboys' uniform, becoming one of the team's most-consistent scorers down the stretch.

He reached double figures in 11 of the last 12 outings, including six straight times to close the campaign.

After netting 17 in an opening-round loss to Wichita State in the National Invitational Tournament, Dennis was the first Wyoming player to publicly announce his intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Dennis has two years of eligibility remaining.

Fellow guards Adam Harakow and Jared Harris followed. So did big men Simm-Marten Saadi and Abou Magassa. It appeared Sundance Wicks and the program were again headed for a long offseason and yet another total rebuild.

That's not the case.

Ballyhooed freshmen Naz Meyer (12.9 points per game) and Gavin Gores (7.3 ppg) have recommitted to the Cowboys. So has Khaden Bennett, who shot nearly 36% from beyond the arc while averaging 10.2 points an outing. Point guard Uriyah Rojas is also back in the mix for the 2026-27 season.

Though Wyoming is still in the market for three additions to the roster, Wicks and Co. this April have secured the same amount of signatures, starting with forward Michael Mora, who scored 17.2 points a night last season at Cal State Monterey.

They added even more size to the front court recently with the acquisition of 6-foot-9 stretch forward Renars Sondors. He netted 10.7 per game last year at Louisiana Monroe.

Washington State's Parker Gerrits has also committed to the Cowboys.

Wyoming won 18 games last season, the best output since punching its ticket to the First Four of the NCAA Tournament in 2022. Wicks' squad was ousted in the opening round of the National Invitational Tournament by Wichita State.

The Mountain West will look much different this fall with the departures of San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and defending conference champion Utah State. Those five are headed to the reimagined Pac-12. The league will now welcome Hawaii as a full-time member. Grand Canyon was inserted a year ahead of schedule and finished fourth overall with 20 wins. UC Davis also comes on board in July.

UNLV, Air Force, New Mexico, Nevada and San Jose State also remain.
