Wyoming RB Sam Scott Won’t Play Today in New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., -- Wyoming's backfield has taken another hit.
Junior Sam Scott, who said he was playing "banged up" after last Saturday's home loss and had a large bag of ice on his leg, didn't make the trip to New Mexico. The Omaha, Neb., product has a "lower-body" injury, according to a team representative.
Scott, for the first time in his career, eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground against Utah State. He finished with 115 yards on just 11 carries. He also found the end zone from 11 yards out in the 27-25 setback.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound workhorse has rushed for 424 yards and three touchdowns this fall.

Harrison Waylee is expected to make his 2024 debut today inside University Stadium. The senior running back is 124 yards shy of reaching 3,000 for his career. He missed the first eight games of the season after suffering a knee injury late in fall camp.
Waylee is expected to play in the final four games of the season, maintaining his redshirt status so he can return to Laramie next fall.
Jamari Ferrell will back Waylee up against the Lobos. Nico Hamilton, a true freshman, is believed to be the third option at running back. Dawaiian McNeely is also expected back this spring. The senior suffered a season-ending knee injury in mid-September against BYU.
Wyoming and New Mexico will kick it off today at 2 p.m. Mountain Time. The game will be televised on TruTV and streamed on MAX.
