LARAMIE -- There are a few lingering questions before the Cowboys kickoff the 2023 season tonight inside War Memorial Stadium.

Can Andrew Peasley show marked improvement and revitalize a passing attack that has been all but dormant since Josh Allen bolted for Buffalo? Can Wyoming's secondary, mainly unquestioned offseason MVP, Kolbey Taylor, help slow down Texas Tech's breakneck tempo and potent aerial assault?

Can Craig Bohl, for just the second time during his 10 years on the sideline in Laramie, knock off a Power-5 team? If so, there's a $100,000 bonus in it for UW's 65-year-old coach.

More importantly, a victory would validate what we've been hearing since the beginning of spring ball -- this is a mature, hungry roster with the horses to take care of business in the Mountain West Conference this fall.

Cody Tucker and Jared Newland break it all down on the first award-winning 7220sports.com Kickoff Show of '23.

Tyler Shough and the visiting Red Raiders have big aspirations this season. Big XII title talk is not shied from in that locker room. With a sixth-year signal caller and a whole host of high-profile wideouts, it should be. Not to mention Tech knocked off Texas and Oklahoma last year for the first time in program history, followed by a dismantling of Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
