Former Wyoming Guard Adam Harakow is Back in The Mitten
LARAMIE -- Adam Harakow is back in the Mitten.
The 6-foot-7 guard/ forward combo Wednesday announced he is signing with Western Michigan after spending one season in Laramie. The Edmonton, Alberta product is at his third school in as many seasons after beginning his career at Lake Superior State, a Division-II program in the Upper Peninsula.

Harakow has one year of eligibility remaining.
He appeared in 33 games last season -- including seven starts -- shooting 46.3% from the field and averaging 6.1 points an outing in less than 19 minutes a night on the floor. Harakow connected on 32-of-84 of his attempts from three and hauled in nearly three rebounds a night.
Western Michigan finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 10-21 overall record and a 4-14 mark in MAC play. Kahil Fennell was hired in late March, replacing longtime Tom Izzo assistant Dwyane Stephens, who never won more than 12 games in a single season during his four-year stint in Kalamazoo.
Harakow was one of five Cowboys to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal this spring, joining fellow guards Damarion Dennis and Jared Harris, along with big men Simm-Marten Saadi and Abou Magassa.
Only Dennis, so far, has joined Harakow in finding a new home. Earlier in the week, the San Antonio native announced on social media he would be heading to Lubbock, joining former UW head coach Jeff Linder at Texas Tech.
Wyoming is no stranger to roster turnover in the offseason, but bench boss Sundance Wicks has had a run of success in the retention department, inking ballyhooed freshmen Naz Meyer (12.9 points per game) and Gavin Gores (7.3 ppg). Khaden Bennett, who shot nearly 36% from beyond the arc while averaging 10.2 points an outing, also recommitted to the program along with point guard Uriyah Rojas. Laramie native Neil Summers is also back in the mix after redshirting last season.

Though Wyoming is still in the market for three additions to the roster -- Wicks posted on X Wednesday that he has indeed accomplished that task, though we don't know any names at this time -- the staff has already secured the same amount of signatures, starting with forward Michael Mora, who scored 17.2 points a night last season at Cal State Monterey.
They added even more size to the front court recently with the acquisition of 6-foot-9 stretch forward Renars Sondors. He netted 10.7 per game last year at Louisiana Monroe.
Washington State's Parker Gerrits has also committed to the Cowboys.
Wyoming won 18 games last season, the best output since punching its ticket to the First Four of the NCAA Tournament in 2022. Wicks' squad was ousted in the opening round of the National Invitational Tournament by Wichita State.
The Mountain West will look much different this fall with the departures of San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and defending conference champion Utah State. Those five are headed to the reimagined Pac-12. The league will now welcome Hawaii as a full-time member. Grand Canyon was inserted a year ahead of schedule and finished fourth overall with 20 wins. UC Davis also comes on board in July.
UNLV, Air Force, New Mexico, Nevada and San Jose State also remain.
