Terron Kellman Lands in Laramie After Two Seasons at Charlotte
LARAMIE -- True freshman Terron Kellman never saw the field in 2022, but he did have a front-row seat for Harrison Waylee's breakout year at Northern Illinois.
He finished a yard shy of 900 and found the end zone five times.
Those two will again be teammates, this time sharing a backfield in Laramie after Kellman inked his letter of intent Saturday, becoming the 10th transfer this offseason to join the Wyoming football program.
The 5-foot-8, 185-pound junior spent the previous two seasons at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he rushed for 570 yards and scored one touchdown. The Clinton, Md., product redshirted during his lone year in DeKalb, Ill.
Kellman is the first running back -- and only the second offensive player -- to ink with the Cowboys this winter.
He joins Eric Richardson, a junior wide receiver from Northwest Missouri State, on a unit that returns its starting quarterback Kaden Anderson, top-two running backs Sam Scott and Waylee and its three leading outside targets Jaylen Sargent, John Michael Gyllenborg and Chris Durr Jr.
Wyoming will also welcome back four-of-five opening-day starters on the offensive line, along with Jake Davies, who started 11 straight games at left tackle.
Top rookies, Gillette quarterback Mason Drube and Houston wideout Deion DeBlanc, will also arrive on campus this January.

On the defensive side, Jay Sawvel and Co. have added five in the secondary -- BJ Inmon (Snow College), Jaden DeCosta (Portland State), Justin Taylor (Wisconsin), Brooklyn Cheek (Cal) and Desman Hearns (Southern Illinois) -- as well as linebackers Ethan Stuhlsatz (Lindenwood) and Brayden Johnson (Oklahoma Baptist) and edge rusher Brayden Wilson (Weber State).
The team is expected to welcome three more transfers this week, according to a source familiar with the situation. That includes another defensive end. The staff is still looking to add an experienced quarterback, an offensive linemen and possibly two more wideouts.
Kellman, a former three-star recruit, who initially received offers from Kansas, Georgia Tech, Boston College and Minnesota out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, will join a youthful running backs room in Laramie after the offseason departures of Dawaiian McNeely and Jamari Ferrell.
That group now includes Nico Hamilton, Mitchell Anderson, Dontae Burch, along with incoming freshmen Samuel "Tote" Harris (Cibolo, Texas) and Jaden Lawrence (Parker, Colo.), to go along with Waylee, Scott and now Kellman.
High School running back Grayson Rigdon (Columbus, Texas) is listed as an "athlete" on the official roster.
This unit also has a new leader. Donnell Kirkwood Jr. was officially hired last week after spending the previous two years at the University of North Dakota. He will replace Gordie Haug, who roamed the sidelines in Laramie for 11 seasons.
Spring football practice at UW is set to begin March 25.
