LARAMIE -- A pair of former University of Wyoming student-athletes advanced to the NFL playoffs. However, only one was available in the Wild-Card Round, and he didn’t just survive but he thrived and advanced.

Josh Allen and Buffalo downed Frank Crum and Denver, 31-7, on Sunday. Allen was his normal stout self while Crum was injured and didn’t suit up for the second week in a row.

Allen was 20-for-26 for 272 yards and two touchdowns. He added 46 yards on eight carries.

The Bills advance to take on Baltimore in the Divisional Round. That game is slated for Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in Buffalo.

He led the Cowboys to their lone appearance in the Mountain West title game back in 2016. Allen was also under center for a pair of postseason games, including the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in his final game in the brown and gold.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
