Patrick Broadway II announced his commitment to the Cowboys on his social media account, and will become the third scholarship player to ink with the program during the traditional signing period, which is set for Wednesday.

He joins fellow Texans Gabriel Ikechukwu, a defensive tackle from Houston, and Cedar Park edge rusher Jason Handy.

Wyoming will also welcome walk-on long snapper Charlie Houston from Garland, Texas.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Fulshear, Texas product chose Wyoming over finalists Prairie View A&M, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Concordia-St. Paul.

Broadway also received interest from Lincoln University (Missouri), Sterling College (Kansas), Millsaps College (Miss.), Maryville College (Tenn.), Midwestern State (Texas), Hardin-Simmons and East Texas Baptist.

The Houston-Area prospect rushed for 2,134 yards last fall on just 187 attempts. That's an average of 11.4 yards per rush. He also found the end zone 29 times for the Chargers, who capped their season at 12-1. Broadway also snagged 10 passes out of the backfield for 129 yards and two scores.

Broadway was named the District 20-6A Offensive MVP and took home First Team honors for the second consecutive season. He was also a finalist for the Texas 6A Running Back of the Year.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
