Former Wyoming Forwards Magassa, Saadi Find New Landing Spots
LARAMIE -- A pair of former Wyoming big men have a new address.
Abou Magassa and Simm-Marten Saadi, who both entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in early April, have landed at UNC Ashville and Central Arkansas, respectively.

Magassa, a 6-foot-7 forward, has two seasons of eligibility remaining. Saadi has three.
Five players in total hit the open market after the Cowboys' 18-win season and trip to the National Invitational Tournament. Damarion Dennis, who averaged more than 11 points a night and hit double figures in 11 of the final 12 games, is now at Texas Tech where he will join former Wyoming head coach Jeff Linder.
Fellow guard Adam Harakow spent just one season on the high plains after transferring from Lake Superior State. He netted six points while playing nearly 19 minutes a night. The Canada native will cap his collegiate career at Western Michigan.
Jared Harris had a forgettable year in Laramie, suffering a toe injury that kept him out of the lineup for nearly three months. The former four-star recruit, who began his career playing for Penny Hardaway at Memphis, is still looking for a new home.
The portal window closed April 21.
Magassa appeared in 29 of the team's 33 games, averaging 3.1 points and three rebounds a night. He shot nearly 58% from the field and a combined 65% in his two seasons at Wyoming. The native of France reached double figures just once in 2025-26, netting 10 in a road loss at Sam Houston State.
Saadi, a 6-foot-9 freshman from Estonia, had his breakout moment on the road at Grand Canyon, sinking a career-high 13 points in a 70-65 upset of the Lopes. He averaged 3.2 points and 1.1 boards an outing.

Sundance Wicks and Co. have added five new faces to the roster this month, most recently signing 6-foot-8 guard Mattia De Martin, who spent last season at Indian Hills Community College (Iowa), the same school that produced former Wyoming sharp-shooter Drake Jeffries.
De Martin joins fellow transfers Michael Mora (Cal State Monterey) and Parker Gerrits (Washington State), who are also guards. Wicks also reloaded his frontcourt, inking Germany's Linus Ruf and Renars Sondors (Louisiana Monroe).
Guards Naz Meyer and Khaden Bennett announced earlier this month they will return. That duo combined for nearly 24 points and 10 rebounds per game last winter. Back-up point guard Uriyah Rojas will also be back for his senior campaign. He netted 6.2 a night while averaging 16.5 minutes of court time.
Forward Gavin Gores will also be back for his sophomore season.
The Mountain West will look much different this fall with the departures of San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and defending conference champion Utah State. Those five are headed to the reimagined Pac-12. The league will now welcome Hawaii and UTEP as a full-time member. Grand Canyon was inserted a year ahead of schedule and finished fourth overall with 20 wins. UC Davis' basketball programs will also enter the league this summer.
UNLV, Air Force, New Mexico, Nevada and San Jose State also remain.
